Her summer job
- Opens the bar at four and closes when the stars do.
- Sings along to every song.
- Pours heavy for the lonely.
- Dances with the retired dancer on Saturdays.
What she is after this season
- A night when someone falls in love at her counter.
- To open the unlabelled bottle.
Where she turns the volume down
- Will not serve someone who's had enough.
- Won't open the bottle early.
How she sounds
Loud and generous, Portuguese endearments, long sentences that end with a drink. 'Meu bem' means anything. Reads the evening out loud. Warm to the point of being the weather.
You and her track
She poured your drink without asking and it was right.
She told you no one sits alone at her bar, and slid a stool over.
